R6220 firmware update V.1.1.0.92

I received a security email advising to update firmware to V.1.1.0.92. I am currently at V1.1.0.86_1.0.1. When I try to update thru router login.net I'm told "No new firmware version available." I tried manually downloading the update file but it only contained release notes and what appeared to be an image file. Any assistance with this is appreciated. Thanks!

Hmmm. That manual is worse than many. I don't have an actual R6220
to study, so I know nothing, but, if you get to ADVANCED >
Administration > Firmware Update, then I'd expect there to be a choice
like:
Locate and select the upgrade file on your hard disk.:
[ Browse... ]
If so, then that "Browse..." control is where you specify the ".img"
file which you (first) need to extract from the ".zip" archive.
If there is no "Browse..." control there, then you may be in real
trouble.
In the old days (last year), the firmware Release Notes typically
included real instructions. And, the instructions in the User Manual
were better, too. ("Continuous Improvement" meets Netgear; loses.)

"only"? What, exactly, were you expecting?
Did you read those Release Notes? In particular, the "Firmware
Update Instructions"?

Been there, done that. Only thing I got out of that was to refer to the manual, which I also did and no help there either.

Bingo! I guess I misunderstood what the purpose of that .img file was. Your solution worked. Thank you and have a great weekend!
