R6300v2 New Firmware V1.0.3.28_10.0.71
In case you don't know it there is new firmware available for the 6300v2 in the Downloads section of this site. It didn't show up when I checked for it from the Router UI so be sure to download it and install it from a hard wired PC. (Not over wireless.)
It seems to be working fine for me.

Created a backup of my config & my router was down for maybe 2 minutes during the update. The entire process was flawless & very fast. I love it when a plan comes together.

You will need to reset your router. I have the same problem as you. I have a Charter router.

I usually have about 8 devices connected by WiFi and a couple direct wired. Smartphones, tablets, a printer, a couple of computers by WiFi, and a computer and a switch (which happens to have nothing plugged in to it right now) are direct wired. I'll let you know how the reset goes.

Re: 6300v2 New Firmware V1.0.3.28_10.0.71
I have the 6220v2 and it doesn't find new firmware from the UI either. I had to check the Netgear site to even know there is a firmware upgrade for my unit. This suggests that there are issues in the UI of several different Netgear Wifi Router models.

Re: 6300v2 New Firmware V1.0.3.28_10.0.71
Yes I'm still unable to get firmware updates from the router GUI. When I click on Advanced, Administration, Firmware Update I get these messages:
Attempting to connect to Netgear Server 1
Attempting to connect to Netgear Server 2
Attempting to connect to Netgear Server 3
No new firmware version available
Judging from the above, it appears the GUI is not making a connection with the Netgear servers.

Re: 6300v2 New Firmware V1.0.3.28_10.0.71
Yes I unplugged the router first and tried that, then did a factory reset none of which worked. My current version is V1.0.0.17_1.0.1. Currently my bandwidth has slowed to a crawl, web pages taking a long time to load. I don't know if this new issue is router related or with my ISP. I'll monitor things throughout the day to see if my bandwidth improves.

Re: 6300v2 New Firmware V1.0.3.28_10.0.71
@S-Warren Kindly try the 30-30-30 reset. After reset, reconfigure and see if you can use the auto update.
1. With the unit powered on, press and hold the reset button on the back of unit for 30seconds.
2. Without releasing the reset button, unplug the unit and hold reset for another 30 seconds.
3. Power on the unit while STILL pushing the reset button and count for another 30 seconds before letting it go.

Re: 6300v2 New Firmware V1.0.3.28_10.0.71
Thanks for your replies and willingness to help ElainM. I ended up manually updating the firmware to v1.1.0.31 and all works great except the occasional need to power off/on the router to re-establish connections for my devices.

@ElaineM wrote:@S-Warren Thank you for the update. Have you tried the reset procedure? You're trying to re-establishing connection on wired or wireless devices?
Regards,
On wireless devices. Every now and then wireless devices lose connectivity with the router so I have taught my household to just power off the router then turn it back on which fixes eveything. It dosen't happen often that they need to do this so that's a good thing.

Re: 6300v2 New Firmware V1.0.3.28_10.0.71
@S-Warren If you have tried changing channels and making sure that there are no other wireless interference near the router. Try changing the Fragmentation Length and CTS/RTS Threshold to 2304. Reconnect your wireless devices and observe your connection.
