RBK13 - Issue with factory reset

Recently, all devices connected to my RBK13 could not access internet.

Tried the followings but no luck:

1. Power recycle

2. Factory reset.  Use paperclip to press the reset button for 7 second, 1 min, 5 min etc, light never change to amber.

3. Tried to connect the main unit with ethernet cable but the unit refuse the connection.

I am currently using my old router and my internet service is fine.

Contacted support earlier this morning but I could not get to the real tech support.

My RBK13 is 10 months old.  The lady on the call tried to sell me 1 year or 6 months warranty plan as my unit is over 90 days basic warranty.

I told her that if I could not reset my unit (tried many times) by following the instructions found on netgear site, it could be linked to faulty hardware and should be qualified for replacement under 1 year hardware warranty.  At the end she refused to transfer me over to technical support.

Re: RBK13 - Issue with factory reset

What firmware version do you have on the device?

A number is more useful than "the latest". (It may not be by the time people read this.) There can also be newer versions, or "hot fixes", that do not show up if you check for new firmware in the browser interface.

It might also help if you told people what the modem is in front of this router, if there is one. The model number could be useful. Is it, by any chance, also a router, with a set of LAN ports on the back?

The reason for asking is that a lot of people turn up here trying to put a router behind a modem that is also a router. That can complicate troubleshooting.

By the way, the RBK13 is not one of the "General WiFi Routers (Non-Nighthawk & Non-Orbi)" covered in this section.

You might get more help, and find earlier questions and answers specific to your device, in the appropriate section for your hardware. That's probably here:

Orbi - NETGEAR Communities

Those things are very different from the standard Netgear routers covered in this section.

In the meantime you could visit the support pages:

Support | NETGEAR

Feed in your model number and check the documentation for your hardware. Look at the label on the device for the model number.

You may have done this already. I can't tell from your message.

I mention it because Netgear stopped supplying printed manuals and CD versions some years ago and people sometimes miss the downloads.
