RBR40 and 2 RBS20 - WiFi issues (How to optimize my Orbi Network for best performance?)
Hello,
I was hoping to get some help or feedback with my Orbi AC2200 Tri-Band Mesh Wi-Fi System. I currently have one RBR40 Router and 2 RBS20 Satellites. I live in a 2,300 sq ft. townhouse.
My main issue is most of my devices (2.4GHz and 5GHz ) are either connected most of the time to the main RBR40 router or if any of the devices do end up connecting to the other 2 satellites they connect on 2.4GHz instead of 5GHz, for example iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, etc,...
I have been searching online for months and I have tried different suggestions/recommecndations on tweaking the settings but I still have no luck. I also tried rebooting the main router, satellites, moving them to different locations around the house (same level) but still no luck.
My question is what is the optimial settings to make the Orbi connect to the devices that are nearby instead of the main router or forcing it to connect to 5GHZ instead of 2.4GHz? This has been severly impacting the network in the house causing slow speeds.
