Ready Share does not work

I connected a WD external hard drive to my router. I cannot access it per the instructions. I tried \\readyshare and it doesn't work. What am I doing wrong? The NetGear genie sees the external harddrive as \\readyshare\USB_Storage, yet when I try it I get the following error message "Windows cannot access \\readyshare". I am so frustrated.

Hi @Fredbird82,
1. What is the firmware version of the router?
2. What is the operating system of the computer you are accessing it from?
3. Have you tried using another computer to access the ReadySHARE drive?
4. Have you tried accessing it via http or ftp?
5. Have you tried using another storage device (USB flash drive)?
6. What is the model number and capacity of the drive you are using?
Regards,
Dexter
