Router Login Shows Two Different Routers

Whenever I type in "routerlogin.com" into my URL and sign in, it shows me the router page for my WNDR3400v2, but whenever I type in my external IP address into the URL, it shows the router page for my old router which is the WGR614v7. I believe this is what is stopping me from port forwarding as well. How can I fix it to be set up with my new router?

Have you tried clearing the browser's history?

That's weird then, I'm clearing all history in Chrome and it still is coming up with the same router page. Even in an incognito window.

Re: Router Login Shows Two Different Routers

I'm not connected from my PC to the router with an ethernet cable.

And I attempted this on my iPod and still had the same issue.

I was just re-reading this in your first post. Why are you typing the external IP address? You should be typing the router's IP address, which is an internal IP. For example, on my own setup it's 192.168.1.1, which is what Netgear routers normally default to. Is that the IP you are typing into the browser's address bar? If it is, then I'm beat.

If you are using Windows then an IPCONFIG/ALL from a command line will verify what "Default Gateway" IP you are using.

Re: Router Login Shows Two Different Routers

Still should work certain way..

If remote management was tested or test out external IP it will still be loopback so it will fail to work or do something (fail to connect) will not shows prior router GUI if browser cache is cleared

Unless WGR is still exist in the network and 3400 is installed behind that ..

Re: Router Login Shows Two Different Routers

Alright: Problem partially solved
Connected my router directly to my computer via an ethernet cable, not relevant

The reason the external IP log in is different is because it is the router log in for the router on the other side of the house. So that's not a problem anymore.
However, I port forwarded on both routers, but my ports are still closed.
