Router does not support ReadySHARE

I have a Netgear WNDR3700 v2 with FirmWare v1.0.1.14.
I have a Seagate Free Agent GoFlex Desk 2TB drive. (PN:9ZQ2N2-500) plugged into the USB port on the router.

The USB Harddrive light is on.
The USB light on the router is NOT on, or blinking.
When I use NETGEAR Genie and click on ReadySHARE, it indicates that "The router does not support ReadySHARE.". Yet this router and drive is listed in all the compatibility charts I find.

I cannot see the drive through Windows Explorer or by typing in \\readyshare.routerlogin.net or any variation of that in the Run command.

The drive works fine when plugged directly into my laptop or desktop.

What should I try next?

Thanks in advance.

Re: Router does not support ReadySHARE

That router of yours should support ReadySHARE locally, but not the Cloud feature. Have you tried with different USB drives (pen drives, external drives)?

Worth noticing about ReadySHARE is that it isn't intended to work with drives that need special software to operate. I'm not familiar with that particular drive of yours but that might be good to know.

You say you're getting that error message in Genie. Are you referring to the desktop program, or the web interface of the router? Log in to the router at http://www.routerlogin.com/ (username is admin and password is password). Click Advanced -> Advanced Setup -> USB Settings and make sure the option for any USB device is set to Yes. Now go to USB Storage -> Basic Settings, are you seeing any drives or error messages here?

Re: Router does not support ReadySHARE

Good idea to try pen drives. I tried other pen/jump drives and they don't show up either.

I triple checked the Advanced -> Advanced Setup -> USB Settings to make sure the option for any USB device is set to Yes thru routerlogin.com. I then went to USB Storage -> Basic Settings and no devices show up. The Safely Remove USB Device button is grayed out, but no error messages. Screenshot: http://screencast.com/t/idPT98jwV

This is what Genie looks like. Screenshot: http://screencast.com/t/QzJhNDRftG8

Thanks again for any help.
