I purchased this cable modem/ router at a garage sale. Everything seems to be functional, except I can't restore factory defaults. There is no reset buttons ( that I can locate) and I don't know the previous owners password. I've downloaded the genie with no solutions. Before I invest in a new device, I'd like to try and use this one. Suggestions anyone.
Visit http://netgear.com/support , put in your (actual) model number, and look for Documentation. Get the User Manual. Read. Look for "reset"? It's not complicated.
Netgear has an infuriating habit of breaking its own "rules".
Even with the same form factor (shape) the reset button can be a movable feast. I just remembered that Netgear sometimes shifts things to the bottom and checked the manual.
That's not the way to do it. This is a collective venture.
If you can't be bothered to read messages here, why should anyone take the time to sign up for Facebook?
