Setting up wireless router
Trying to set up wireless on what had been a wired Ethernet set up that had 2 modems (something about security). Previously, internet came in to cable modem, went to vonage modem, then to computer. The only way the cords work, and the way the new netgear wireless modem will fit in the system, is to connect as shown in the diagram, is to remove the vonage from the system. Now all the lights are green on netgear modem, but the bottom one is blinking green (icon is a dot with a line below, with 2 dots below that), and all the lights on wireless router are white but the one that is a circle with a swooping dot is blinking. Have tried a phone and computer wirelessly attaching without success (not connected to internet) as well as Ethernet cable from router to computer, also without success. Please help! Not sure if the vonage has anything to do with it or if something is just misbehaving. I have power cycled the modem twice without benefit.
Hi Dunbar,
1. What is the model number of your NETGEAR modem?
