Slower speeds from switch than direct connect with modem/router
Sorry not very literate on all of this. I will try to give as much information as possible. I have a 1Gig subscription with Centurylink. I have their router / modem - Model C3000Z I bought the GS3...
You need to go
router/modem------->switch----->then devices.
From the way you described it, you're going switch------>modem/router
