UPnP still broken on R6400
UPnP stopped working on the R6400 as of a recent firmware upgrade; I'm thinking it was 1.0.1.42 in June.
1.0.1.44 is now out, and UPnP still doesn't work.

UPnP is fixed by R6400 firmware version 1.0.1.46.
I presume this doesn't open exposure to WAN-side UPnP attacks.

What are these "the camera dns names"? Are you saying that some DDNS
feature is not working, or what?
Does reverting to an older firmware version help?

Amcrest is the DNS server. This no longer works with the latest firmware update.

Visit http://netgear.com/support , put in your model number, and look
for Downloads. For older versions, under Firmware and Software
Downloads, look for "View Previous Versions". Find the kit(s).
Download the kit(s) you want. Read the "Release Notes" file for
instructions.

That tells me nothing about anything. What, exactly, "no longer
works"? As usual, showing actual actions with their actual results
(error messages, LED indicators, ...) can be more helpful than vague
descriptions or interpretations.I found the older versions of the firmware. I read in previous posts that stepping back to a previous version works. I have the port forwarding working so that will not be an urgent task.
DNS is domain name search. So instead of typing in something like www.google.com, you would instead type in the IP address, like 201.34.28.91 (not actually googles IP). So when I type in the DNS name for my camera, it goes to Amcrest to get the IP address. I am guessing because UPnP is not working, it is not sending that information to Amcrest. Instead I have to write out my IP address of my router to get to the cameras. When I say it does not work, that means when I type the URL, it does not find anything. If I type the actual IP numbered address, I can get to the cameras.
I reverted to R6400-V1.0.1.34_1.0.24.chk and now the UPnP and the DNS names works correctly. Looks like there is a bug in latest firmware or there is an incompatibility with Amcrest cameras.
