USB Control Center Printer stuck in "Waiting to Connect"

I have 2 USB Printers connected to my WNDR4500
Router and 3 PCs using the USB Control Center.
One is a Windows 7 Dell Studio 17 laptop. One is a Windows
8.1 Surface Pro 3. One is a Windows 8.1 Dell Inspiron desktop.
When I look at the Control Center on the Windows 7
and the Windows 8.1 Surface Pro, I see the two printers
listed as available and I can print easily to them.
When I look at the Windows 8.1 Dell Desktop, I see one
printer listed as available and the other listed as
"Waiting to Connect". I can't seem to get that status
to be "available" like the other printer. The documentation
says to Connect and next disconnect. When I manually connect
to the printer, it prints fine. But the Disconnect button
is grayed out and will not change the status to "available".
The printer that is having the issue is an HP 1160le Laser Printer.
The one that is working fine is an HP PSC 1200 printer.
This one boggles the mind. Is there a limit to the number of available
connections or something? Any help will be appreciated.

Re: USB Control Center Printer stuck in "Waiting to Connect"

The connection should be one at a time. If other computer is connected via the USB control center other devices will have "waiting to connect". Disconnect the printer on the other device via the control center. Make sure as well the the driver of the printer is installed and updated and working on that specific computer.

Re: USB Control Center Printer stuck in "Waiting to Connect"

Thanks for the response. I have checked the drivers and they look OK for the printer that is having the problem. I understand that it is one connection at a time. The problem I have is that for this printer and only on one computer it is always in "Waiting to Connect" status. It never gets to "Available" status like the other 2 computers. The status for the other 2 computers say Available. The third computer one never goes to "Available".

Can you try to uninstall and reinstall the Control center as well as the drivers of the printer.
