Unable to access cloud storage device outside of home

Hi, I have an orbi wifi mesh system and just purchased and set up a personal cloud storage device. I can't access the cloud storage outside of my home.I tried to set up port forwarding on the orbi router. When I go open the  port for the cloud storage it is listed as a different IP address in Orbi's port forwarding than it is on the personal clouds link. As a result, I can't use the IP address for the cloud storage, when I used the IP address that Orbi sees it as, I can't access the device. How do I set it up to access the device given this issue?

Update (Didn't see how to edit original post) - In port forwarding the ip addresses do match up correctly now. But I still can't access it externally. The protocol is tcp/udp, port is 9000 and the internal external port is checked to match. What am I doing wrong?

Not a very detailed description of anything.  Maker?  Model number?
At least one of us might want to read the documentation for it.

"access" _how_?  "can't" is not a useful problem description. It
does not say what you did.  It does not say what happened when you did
it.  As usual, showing actual actions (commands) with their actual
results (error messages, LED indicators, ...) can be more helpful than
vague descriptions or interpretations.

Why?  Are you following some set of instructions or other?  "tried"
_how_, exactly?  See "not a useful problem description [...]", above.

With my weak psychic powers, I can't see either of those addresses.
What's a "the personal clouds link"?

   What, exactly, are you doing?

V.2.5.1.16 The orbi acts as my router that is connected to my Fios Quantam Router

Buffalo Linkstation 210

Via internet access - http://buffalonas.com/LVDesigns/

I receive the following error message - "The Buffalo NAS Device Could Not Be connected. Check the settings of the buffalo NAS device and the router."

I'm following a set of instructions. According to Buffalo Support the router is blocking access. That Port 9000 is not open. That I need to open it on my router so that I can access the NAS device over the internet.

What's a "the personal clouds link"?

No longer an issue. The link is the link I provided in this response.

Where, for the benefit of folks who haven't studied Buffalo NAS
gizmos, the "LVDesigns" part identifies _your_ NAS gizmo?

   Thanks for the helpful link.

Not a very detailed description of that device, but, if it actually
is (or includes) a NAT router, then cascading another router (like, say,
the Orbi) with it can cause problems like this.

"my router" is a little ambiguous when you have two routers.

   The usual one-router configurations are:

   1. Configure your "my Fios Quantam Router" as a modem-only ("bridge"
mode), and use the Orbi as your only router.  Among other things, that
would disable the wireless capability of the "my Fios Quantam Router"
(and not allow any wired devices other than the Orbi to be connected to
it, either).

   2. Configure the Orbi router as a wireless access point.

Visit http://netgear.com/support , put in your model number, and look
for Documentation.  Get the User Manual.  Read.  Look for "Use the
router as a WiFi access point".
