WN3000RP Reset and can't connect

A friend had Given Me Their WN3000RP extender. I am Trying To Set It Up As A Temporary Fix For Internet As My Room The Wifi Doesn't Extend That Far. The Router I Had To Extend Is Having Issues So Thought I'd Give It A Try. I Reset It With The Reset Button. I Can Find It On The Computer But It Will Not Let Me Connect To It At All. What I Am Connecting It To Doesn't Have A Wps Button. I Have Tried To Connect To It With A Tablet Android 12 and A Computer. Nothing Will Connect To It. Any Ideas? My Friend Said It Was Working When She Gave It To Me. Is There Anything I Need To Do To Connect To It? Followed The Instruction Manual  For Reset.

ThankS

Re: WN3000RP Reset and can't connect

I have tried to hook it up via an Ethernet cable directly to the router.  I can then connect to the extender but can not log into mywifiext page or directly by the IP of the extender according to the users manual. It times out.  So I go into my router and try to find it and see what IP address it was a signed. It's not even listed as connected.  So not sure what's going on here. Any help would be appreciated.

It is very hard to follow your messages. There just isn't much useful information.

What router are you trying to connect it to?

Just about the only clue we have to what is happening is when you write:

What happens when you try?

Be warned that the WN3000RP is an aged device. Don't expect a lot.

While many questions about routers are generic and could be answered anywhere, some things need specialist knowledge.

You might get more help, and find earlier questions and answers specific to your device, in the appropriate section for your hardware. That's probably here:

WiFi Range Extenders & Nighthawk Mesh - NETGEAR Communities

In the meantime you could visit the support pages:

Support | NETGEAR

Feed in your model number and check the documentation for your hardware. Look at the label on the device for the model number.

Check for various troubleshooting tips.

You may have done this already. I can't tell from your message.

I mention it because Netgear stopped supplying printed manuals and CD versions some years ago and people sometimes miss the downloads.
