WN604 wireless connections don't get an IP address from LAN connected WNDR4000

To extend the WIFI range I connected an AP WN604 to my WNDR4000 router (by using the LAN ports).
I'm able to connect wireless my PC to the AP but I do'nt get an IP address.
AP is configured as DHCP client, bridging is not enabled.
The AP does get an IP adsress, LAN connected devices (my computer) do, but if I want to use the wireless connection with my PC it does not get an IP address.
Must I configure the wireless bridging option (even the AP is LAN connected with the router)?

Re: WN604 wireless connections don't get an IP address from LAN connected WNDR4000

I tried a fixed IP address on my PC (wireless card).
Connecting to the router (WNDR4000) was working fine (connected and IE working).
Connecting to the AP (WN604) seem to work (connected) but IE was not working.
Is this giving any direction?

Re: WN604 wireless connections don't get an IP address from LAN connected WNDR4000

I continued experimenting. On my AP I changed the Securiy setting Network Authentication from Open to Shared with result -> unable to connect.
I changed the security setting Network Authentication back to Open System, I re-entered the Passphrase and generated the keys (with I thought the same settings) and what happened. I was able to connect and use IE.

Now I changed the IP settings of my PC's wireless card from Fixed to Obtain an IP address. Again the result was fine. I could connect to the AP and got a new IP address and was able to use IE.

I'm not sure how or why but now it is working!
