WNDR 4500 V1 5GHs channel not seen by the Windows 7 laptop

I have a Windows 7 laptop with Broadcom 802.11n Network Adapter. I have a WNDR 4500 V1 router with both 2.4 Ghz and 5Ghz channels turned on. But my laptop is not seeing the 5GHz channel.
The encryption chosen on both the channels is WPA2-PSK [AES].

Any help?

What model of Broadcom 802.11n adaptor do you have, are you sure it’s a dual band adaptor and not 2.4GHz only?

Not all N adapters has 5Ghz capabilities. Better check the model of the broadcom like what Babylon5 suggested. if you are not sure, you may check it with the computer's manufacturer.
