WNDR3700 not pulling IP from cable modem
I have a WNDR3700 that started giving me issues two nights ago. The #5 light blinks amber constantly, according to the manual indicating that it is not obtaining an IP address from the cable modem. I can plug my MacBook in to the cable modem via Ethernet and it works fine. Neither wireless or wired mode is working on the router. I've got a Roku hard-wired into the router and it does nothing as well. I've cycled both the cable modem and the router countless times, tried different cables, etc.
Any ideas?
Thanks!

Re: WNDR3700 not pulling IP from cable modem
Similar problem with a wndr4700 tonight after several reboots and resetting to defaults it appears the 4 port switch and the WAN port is dead. I could connect via wireless but not when connected via LAN ports.
It's in trash now.

Re: WNDR3700 not pulling IP from cable modem
What led is blinking?
Do you mean the 5ghz light?
Are any of the other lights on, or just the one single flashing light?
If there's only one light on and it's flashing amber then that would likely be the power light, and it would also likely mean it is in recovery mode.
If you turned it off while updating or tried to update over WiFi then it might just be a bad firmware flash/update.
Below are some guides

If you still have the CD I think it can do the recovery function.

Re: WNDR3700 not pulling IP from cable modem
I knew I could count on you Mizoguchi-san! I had been doing MAC spoofing when this problem started. I reset to factory defaults and made sure I was spoofing the MacBook MAC address and it appears to be working again.
Thanks!
