WNR after lighting strike
My comcast modem got zapped by lighting last night. My netgear WNR2000 seemed to have taken a hit as well. After a few power cycles and leaving it unplugged for a few minutes I plugged it back in and it gave out DHCP address.
However, when I plug it in my replacement cable modem (RCA DCM425) it will not connect.
I did the following:
Confirmed modem good by connecting to PC
Unplugged modem and router and waited 2 minutes
plugged in modem and waited 1 minute then plugged in router.
When I try the setup wizard it does not find a signal.
I tried release and renew as well
The modem PC link light does not come on like when I plug it into my PC.
I also tried mac spoof but still not link light or connection.
Is my routers wan port dead?
Any help?
Thanks

Re: WNR after lighting strike
sounds like it. strikes can also travel via ethernet cable when other devices get hits.

Re: WNR after lighting strike
Try to reflash the firmware and then hard reset the router and reconfigure it. See if that helps.
