WNR2000v2 Connectivity issues

I am using a new Netgear WNR2000v2 to bridge a ubee modem/router to both my Macbook and Roku. Firmware is up to date.

Setup: ubee is hardwired to netgear router. Router hardwired to Macbook via Belkin network/USB adapter. Have not attempted Roku yet.

"Use Router as DHCP Server" is unchecked.

Issue:

1. Wifi does not connect to NETGEAR at all. The router is listed, and yes the blue light is on. Have already performed factory reset. This issue persists whether router is hardwired or not. Also the network is NOT password protected. I tried to change it but "old password" (?) was incorrect. I tried the numeric security PIN on the router but that didn't work. I pressed the held the WPS button on the ubee while doing the same for the Netgear, which blinked for a while then stopped.

2. Router connects to ubee>internet when hardwired (wifi off) BUT only after I perform a factory reset. I cannot even access the 192.168.1.1 dash unless I perform the reset. The connection remains until I disconnect the USB adapter. If I reconnect it takes several minutes for the subnet mask to appear, but no other addresses are assigned (see below).

Haven't found anyone else with the same issue. Not sure what I'm doing wrong. Thanks all!

Re: WNR2000v2 Connectivity issues

Was able to solve the issue by modifying both the ubee's range and my router's IP address as shown here:

After these changes I reverted to "Using DHCP" instead of manual and it works!

Re: WNR2000v2 Connectivity issues

I was able to resolve the bizarre issue of resetting the router by making all fields manual. I also changed the WPA-2 password but my computer still cycles endlessly while trying to connect to it via Wifi.

Now the router detects internet through the hardwire (wireless off) and indeed connects to the Netgear dash, but I cannot access the internet. I tried unplugging both routers and power cycled correctly, even tried different browsers. I checked the two DNS servers on the working ubee dash and they match with those detected by the Netgear.

I tried connecting the routers via WPS on both their dashboards but neither recognized the other, and timed out. I even entered the PIN and MAC addresses but no dice.Screen Shot 2017-08-11 at 5.23.12 PM.png

"bridge" is a technical term with a specific meaning, probably not
what you mean here.  Does "a ubee modem/router" have a model number?
What kind of Internet service is this: cable-TV, DSL, fiber, ...?

>  to both my Macbook and Roku.

So, making wireless connections to these gizmos is the goal?  Does
the (unspecified) "a ubee modem/router" have wireless or not?  Why are
you adding the WNR2000v2 to your existing network?

>  Firmware is up to date.

An actual firmware version number would be more useful than your
evaluation of what's current.

> Setup: ubee is hardwired to netgear router.

At least some of these things have multiple ports.  What, exactly, is
connected to what?

>  Router hardwired to Macbook via Belkin network/USB adapter.

Is that a WNR2000v2 LAN port?  Is (unspecified) "Belkin network/USB
adapter" an Ethernet-USB adapter or a wireless-USB adapter, or what?

> "Use Router as DHCP Server" is unchecked.

Ok.  What other non-default configuration properties have you set?

> 1. Wifi does not connect to NETGEAR at all. The router is listed,

Not a very detailed description.  Have you configured the WNR2000v2
wireless network stuff (SSID, passphrase, ...)?  Do you see this/these
SSID(s) in the network list on a client device?  (Is that what "router
is listed" means?)  If so, then what kind of "not connect" happens when
you select one?

> Also the network is NOT password protected. I tried to change it but
> "old password" (?) was incorrect.

Where are you in the router's Web interface?

All which fields?  Where are you in the router's Web interface?

> I tried connecting the routers via WPS on both their dashboards but

At least one of us is confused.  What, exactly, are you trying to do?
