I just switched ISP's and now my router won't work. What do I need to go in and change for it to recognize it?

I went through this and still got nothing. I called net gear support and they wanted to charge me $99 for support. The only info he gave me was that since I changed isp that me ip address was changed and this was causing the problem? I looked under my router status and there is no ip address in the internet port section.
