WNR3500L And Apple Sharing

Hello Everyone,

I just brought myself a new WNR3500L router from a Staples, I get it home get everything configured (Wireless SSID, Channel, WPA2-PSK Security). I own two Mac's, a Mac Mini and a Mac Book Pro. I have AFP and Screen Sharing turned on for both machines. I can see the other machine in Finder but when I click on it to access a shared folder or to screen share with it. It just sits there. Never connects or File Sharing will connect but screen sharing will not. Any thoughts on whats going on?

should not be any issues if you find in finder.

both are on wired or one on wireless?

try test with both wired the router

Hello,
After installing the newest OS X Lion, I have a problem withe Apple File Protocol (AFP) on my WNR3500L.

Trying to make Time Machine Backup, I have received the message that the backup volume doesn't support AFP-functions let lion make no backup. :mad:

I have My WD MyBook connected to Netgear by USB.

Any chance to new firmware or any other way to fix it?

You can not use Mac partition .

but I must because Time Machine needs Mac partition.

Stora products that Netgear sells do work with time machine which is not formatted hfs partition

Afp is not partition but type of network protocol

3 days ago on OS X Snow Leopard worked fine via AFP (samba)
After switch to Lion I have a problem.

Apple probably has changed AFP protocol in Lion which is not supported by Netgear at this momment, am I correct?

I still have an access to other volumes and partitions from this HDD via samba (WIFI) except Time Machine 😞

What do You recommend me?

Stora currently have an issue with Lion and uses ready share but in your case both wired works so contact support at my.Netgear.com

At this point forum can not help you as forum is user to user. There is no other user has posted with this issues..contact support 🙂
