WPN824

Hi, I reset the device several times, and the wifi icon is not illuminated, and it is only possible to connect the computer through the ethernet cable.  I wanted to use this old (but basically brand new) device as a wifi repeater.

Thank you for help.

I also can't access the Netgear login page since I'm always prompted to my internet provider's login page.

Not quite old enough to vote.  WPN824[v1], WPN824v2, or WPN824v3?
Look at the product label.  Firmware version?

"can't" is not a useful problem description.  It does not say what
you did.  It does not say what happened when you did it.  As usual,
showing actual actions (commands) with their actual results (error
messages, LED indicators, ...) can be more helpful than vague
descriptions or interpretations.

To what, exactly, did you connect the WPN824[vX]?  (An actual maker
and model number might be more helpful than, say, "my internet
provider's modem".)

What is your "the computer"?  Is it connected to the WPN824[vX]?  Are
you using some web browser on it to "access the Netgear login page"?
How, exactly?  Actual URL?

If nothing else works, then disconnect all the data lines from the
WPN824[vX], and connect (only) your computer to one of its LAN ports.

What, exactly, does "as a wifi repeater" mean to you?  Were you
expecting to run an Ethernet cable from your (unspecified) main router
to the WPN824[vX], or were you hoping to use a wireless connection
between them, or what?  I haven't read all three possible WPN824[vX]
user manuals, so I know nothing, but I wouldn't bet that an all-wireless
arrangement is possible.  Practically any wireless router (even an
antique) can be configured as a wireless access point, which would use a
wired connection to the main router.

General advice: Visit http://netgear.com/support , put in your
(actual) model number, and look for Documentation.  Get the manuals.
Read.  See anything in there which looks like what you want to do?
