WPN824N - fast wired / slow wireless issue
I got this not long ago and it worked GREAT for a couple days.
The wired connection gets between 12-20 mbps (computer plugged straight into the router).
The wireless connection has been alright, getting 7 mbps or less.
After a few days it took a nosedive down to 50 kbps (on my laptop and my android phone).
Screwed around with it awhile (unplugging, replugging). Called tech support and the guy had me change the channel (to 11) and it totally worked! For a few days. Then back down it went.
I used my phone's wifi analzyer app and saw that channel 4 (and surrounding area) was free and clear, so I changed it to that. And it totally worked! For a few hours. Then back down it went. I found each time I flipped the channel it'd perform well, for awhile. Eventually I just gave up and toggled it down to wireless G. And it worked reliable for days.
Just ran a test from my phone and got 157kbps down / 54kbps up, my hardline got 3.17 mpbs down / 0.94 mbps up.
What can I do? I want reliable wireless connectivity that I don't have to change the channel once every couple hours!
Please help!

Re: WPN824N - fast wired / slow wireless issue
You can only use channel 1,6,11. Rest will overlapp. Therefore you seen the issues

Thank you for the prompt reply!
I'm setting it to 11 again (there's a neighbor router on 1), but I'm a bit paranoid as it was set to 11 during the tech support call and that only did the trick for a couple days... and setting it to G.
I do appreciate the help and I'll pop back by if that doesn't do the trick

there others for linux as well that is even interesting stuff.
you may like wireshark for capturing data if you want add more tools.
netstumber is also widely used. same as inssider.
