WPN824v2 not logging

I have a RangMax WPN824v2. I just noticed that it isn't logging. In other words, on the router's web page - the NetGear Smart Wizard router manager page - the log is empty. I check the log usually several times a day, so this just started today.

Also, the router icon disappeared from my laptop's "Network" page today, Windows 7. Luckily I had the web page address saved to favorites so I could go to it easily enough, and that's when I noticed that the log was blank. Could these events be connected? As far as I know in the four or so years I've had this router it's never done this before. Does anyone have any idea what might have happened and how to remedy the situation? I'm pretty ignorant about these things and sort of paranoid. I don't even want to think about someone else maybe hacking into my wireless router's log.

If it was working prior then reset the router is first things to do
