Windows 7 not picking up IP address on WNDR3400 ethernet port

I have just replaced a WNDR3400v3 with a new unit (same model) due to a failure of the old unit. The old unit worked very well with both WinXP (SP3) and Win7 (SP1). My system is a dual-boot system, so the hardware is the same for either OS. My problem is that now Win7 will not pick up an IP address from the router. WinXP still performs well, as it always has.
Any ideas?

For whatever reason, your method took three attempts ... but it did work. Thanks for the assist.
