XBOX LIVE wired connection

Ok...extremely frustrated here. I had a working dlink router. Xbox live wired in, no issues. ISP DHCP...When I switched to the 4500, I cannot connect to the xbox via wired at all. THe port it is wired to wont even light up. What is weird is that I CAN connect wirelessly, but on my xbox...i dont want that.
I've followed every suggestion and am pulling my hair out. Everything else I try works...so I know its not the port. It is odd.

I removed the netgear and pt the dlink back on and everything works..I just wanted the speed of the netgear.

Re: XBOX LIVE wired connection

try static IP on xbox outside the DHCP range of the 4500(you will need to adjust DJCP range)

Re: XBOX LIVE wired connection

OK...in a fit..I pulled all the wires, Love the feel of insulation on my face BTW.
The cord was sliced just a bit. Guess the net gear is more sensitive than the dlink to it.

NOw my next issue is the nat setting...UPNP is enabled...get moderate or strict on all xboxes in house....suggestions?

Re: XBOX LIVE wired connection

I have my xbox360 wired to a WNDR4500 in my central panel. UPnP enabled and my xbox360 on DHCP IP. 4500 opens and closes ports without issue for the 360.

Re: XBOX LIVE wired connection

I would make sure you have the latest firmware and then do a 30/30/30 reset of your router. This opened up my NAT.
