login to router WNR3500 v2

I use windows 10 on a packard bell laptop

I want to login to mine Netgear WNR3500 v2 router.

Admin and password do not work.

So I did a factory reset on the modem.

"When I tried the go the login page there appeare a page with the following text:

To avoid a conflict ........... your router's IP address has been updated to 10.0.0.1

You must now update the IP addresses in your configuration settings etc"

After that I tried to login to router with the IP-address 10.0.0.1.

The loginpage is turning up now.  I fill in: admin and password

username and passwords are not accepted and I still cannot login.

Help!!!!!!

It sounds like you may have something else on the network.

What is the modem in front of this router? If it is a modem/router that would explain the address chance.

Re: login to router WNR3500 v2

This answer didn't solve my problem. I removed every in front of the wnr3500 v2.
Now the router stayes on the standard IP-address. I did another factory reset. And I am still unable to login with admin and password.

Anybody can tell how I can login to my router without knowing the proper username and password?

Sorry that is not much help.

The WNR3500 is a router. There has to be something that connects it to the internet, if only a LAN socket in the wall.

That means not  much more.

What is this "standard IP-address"?

How are you trying to get into the router? Wifi? Wired?

What happens when you try?

You can't. If you have reset it and the defaults don't work, then something else is going on.

You'll have to tell us more before anyone can begin to guess what is going on at your end.

Re: login to router WNR3500 v2

Hi Michael,

I'am sorry I informed you badly.

I removed the network cable from the router and I switched the modem off, so there is no internet at all.
I wired my laptop to the router.
I did another factory reset.

After restarting the router the IP-ADDRESS was set to 192.136.1.1.
With this IP-address I tried to login the router. The login screen asked for the username and password.
I put in admin and password.
Again this gave me no permission to enter the router.

Where did that address come from?

By default the address will be 192.168.1.1.

There is a manual for the WNR3500Lv2 somewhere at the end of this link:

>>>> WNR3500Lv2 | Product | Support | NETGEAR <<<<

Check this:

If you cannot login to your router | Answer | NETGEAR Support

Is this in a web browser in Windows? Something else?

Hi Michael,
Thanks for your reply.
I have connection with the router. I just cannot login.
I use chrome and I also tried with windows. Both didn't work.

What does "connection with the router" mean?

Cannot login to what? A particular IP address? A web address?

The IP address you listed above makes no sense. The one I gave is more normal. But I also gave you a link other options.

You keep saying the same thing without answering questions or providing any extra information that would help us to understand what is going on.

I also do not understand this but:

Chrome is a browser that works in Windows and other operating systems. Perhaps you mean Internet Explorer.
