power light blinking; no internet

My router seems to lose the its firmware every couple of months... how do I fix it again? the power button is slowly blinking green, the internet is wired from the modem, directly connecting my computer works, but when I connect the router, I get the blinking green power light and a solid orange internet light. I cannot connect my computer using an ethernet cord from one of the lan ports or login to the router.

Re: power light blinking; no internet

According to the User Manual, if the Power LED (not Button) is blinking green the firmware is corrupt. In that case you could try:

- to repair the firmware using the CD that came with the router
- to re-flash the same firmware
- TFTP as a last resort.

Refer to the User Manual to ensure you follow correct procedures.

Re: power light blinking; no internet

Wouldn't that make the Jtag the last thing you want?

Re: power light blinking; no internet

The firmware should not become corrupt every couple of months, unless it is a sign of the router dying.

Is it possible that you are experiencing power issues?

If so, you should consider getting a UPS for your router.
