render wlan unusable

Hello,

I would like to remove the WLAN functionality of the router entirely and was wondering

how would I accomplish this. I was thinking about if desoldering some component

would do this. I have already cut the antenna connections on the PCB,

but it obviously leabe

I use the device in a small LAN to connect a couple devices via cable ethernet

and consider the wifi module a security issue.

Firmware V1.2.3.7

Re: render wlan unusable

Ok, thanks for the answers. I think the faraday cage solution sounds most promising at the moment

Re: render wlan unusable

just to finish the sentence, that cutting the antenna connections reduce the range,

but it is still 'on'

Re: render wlan unusable

Yeah, thanks, but I am looking for a 'hardware' oriented way of disabling the wifi radio

so that it can't be turned on in software anymore.

Re: render wlan unusable

Wow, why go through so much trouble?  Why not get a wired-only router?

Re: render wlan unusable

Or flick the switch on the device.

This may be one of those boxes that simply will not turn on through the web interface, unless you throw the switch on it..

If there is no switch, then wrap the thing in tinfoil! Or put it in a Faraday cage.
