router to router connection

OK, So..I have a daughter that has been hacked a couple of times, lives in the city,

thinks I should have more security in the country, no neighbor or closeness to house from roads of at least 700 feet, and I am on a satelitte. She wants to add another router to my router for security...Can this be done and if so how do I make connections. Ed

Why does she think another router is going to make you more secure? It usually causes issues with double nat.

You're better off with a good password, good wifi security, and some basic common sense. Most of the rest of "hacking" comes down to user errors such as clicking the wrong info, phishing emails, etc.
