DGN2200 firmware v.1.0.0.36_7.0.36 Port Forwarding

Hi,
I have a DGN2200 router and I just upgraded it's firmware version to 1.0.0.36_7.0.36

But I can't find anymore the Port Forwarding Settings. I need to open some ports because I use eMule.

How can I open the ports I need ?

P.S. I apologise for my bad english

Re: DGN2200 firmware v.1.0.0.36_7.0.36 Port Forwarding

I got my DGN2200 today and upgraded the firmware to 1.0.0.36_7.0.36 and then tried to open the ports necessary for my webserver and for games on my Xbox 360s.

I couldn't do it so I downgraded the firmware back to 1.0.0.20_4.0.20 and was able to get to the port forwarding/triggiering screen and open up the ports.

The port forwarding screen in the older firmware is so much better than the firewall rules screen in the newer firmware, will it be out back in any future upgrades?

Re: DGN2200 firmware v.1.0.0.36_7.0.36 Port Forwarding

I got my DGN220 today and upgraded the firmware I then tried to find out how to open the ports sfor my web server (on port 50104) and to open the ports so my son could play Halo on his xbox 360. There was no port forwading page and the firewall rules page was hopeless.

I then downgraded the firmware back to 1.0.0.20_4.0.20 and opened the ports from the port forwarding page.

Will this feature be put back in future upgrades?

some model does not say port forwarding. sometime are using "inbound,outbound rules" which is same thing..

http://interface.netgear-forum.com/DGN2000/fw_rules.htm

look at under securities tab , three from top under security tab.

Imbound outbound rules do not allow you to specify what ports to open other than the predefined ones

Re: DGN2200 firmware v.1.0.0.36_7.0.36 Port Forwarding

Is there a way to reset the router to factory default as I am having trouble opening ports 2300 to 2400 as I keep getting the message "specified port(s) are being used by other configurations. Please check your configurations of Remote Management, Port forwarding, Port Triggering, UPnP Port Mapping table, RIP, and Internet connection type"

I have checked all these and can't find any conflicts.

up to 1024 is the common ports widely used so most pre-define ports are all under 1024

if you have issue getting a message, most of the the time resetting the router will cure the issues..

I would try disable uPnP first make sure that device did not request the ports to be opened which could trigger the error .

the gateway is properly setup on CCTV server, but I still need redirect ports

Http = 80
FTP = 21
Command = 4550
Data = 5550
Audio = 6550
Remote Control = 3389
SSL = 443
Mobile = 8866
Mobile RPB = 5511
3G RTSP / TCP = 8554
3G RTP /RTCP UPP = 17300-1738

What has happened with "Port Redirection and Open Port Configuration" from previous firmware ?

But it's not the way it should be, because in the specification, this option is available.

Re: DGN2200 firmware v.1.0.0.36_7.0.36 Port Forwarding

I also have the same problem in that I setup port forwarding on the earlier firmware and then upgraded to the latest and could not find the port forwarding menu item anymore. So I created the services I required and used some of the preset ones and setup the firewall rules to use these services and on saving each one I got the same message that dhester got

(FAILURE: Please check your configurations of Remote Management, Port forwarding, Port Triggering, UPnP Port Mapping table, RIP, and Internet connection type)

I have tested the port forwarding(s) and they do work even though you get this message. Also any subsequent change that is made to an entry that was created on the earlier firmware also throws up this message. I suppose one could go back to the earlier firmware and remove the port forwarding entries and then go back to the new one and recreate them as services/firewall rules which may get rid of the message.

Re: DGN2200 firmware v.1.0.0.36_7.0.36 Port Forwarding

Hi, I have the same problems ...
I set up the services for Ventrilo and Teamspeak 3 with the default ports, forwarded to my PC which has a reserved IP inside my LAN, just as I used to do with my old RP614 router from netgear connected to a ADSL modem. But the signals won't go through.
None of the 2 virtual servers work anymore with this router.

Re: DGN2200 firmware v.1.0.0.36_7.0.36 Port Forwarding

I think the new way of setting up the forwarding at firewall page is more clear. It is all about the firewall and you must learn the new way for your own good, instead of complaining.
All other routers and firewalls out there incorporate simillar logic.

IMHO the old way was confusing. You did not know if the firewall is really running and how exactly it is configured.

Re: DGN2200 firmware v.1.0.0.36_7.0.36 Port Forwarding

The old way worked. I've tried everything and I cant get the new firmware working like it does with Port Forwarding.
They say the new way is the way its going to stay even if it doesnt do what is did they dont care anymore.

I cannot upgrade as I use port forwarding and as the new firmware DOES NOT do port forwarding then I cant upgrade. I've already has a few months long case with them and there is nothing they can do except to recommend me to return my router and get a different brand.

Re: DGN2200 firmware v.1.0.0.36_7.0.36 Port Forwarding

No port translation on this new firmware?
I need to translate an external port (say 1001) to a different internal port (say 80). I just bought this router, it's equipped with the latest firmware and now i realize that there is no way to make a simple port translation. As far as i can see it was possible with previous firmware releases. So what i'm supposed to do? To downgrade to an older firmware a brand new router? Dude, i can do it, but let me say, what a strange approach for the firmware developer, going back instead of moving forward.
I hope that a new firmware can be released as soon as possible with the port translation feature available in the "services" configuration. This should not be too hard, since the firewall / services configuration should be based on iptables, and in iptable you can easily remap ports.. so insteAd of having only port start and port end like today, please just add a "port map" field in the services configuration, and make it work.

How do I downgrade to 1.0.0.20? I got the chk file from netgear but fails when I try to upload it from the 192.168.0.1 admin page.

If you have ISP provided unit then you will not able to use Netgear firmware

And do not use wireless to upgrade and use IE browser

Two Xboxes and Live accounts!

I need to know how to get 2 Xboxes to run off my DGN2200!

I have read tons of stuff on the net, but nothing has really given both Xbox Live full access without the other getting kicked!

I'm not savvy on this stuff, so please speak "network for dummies"!!

Thanks!
