Genie, caused Runtime Error

Hi guys, 1st post on here.

Netgear WNDR4000 (FirmwareV1.0.0.90)

Everything working OK, had Router for about a year.

Yesterday, updated to latest Genie Rebooted network.

This evening, got screen pop up:

visualc++ Runtime error c:\program flies\netgear genie\bin\netgeargenie.exe

Genie icon on Taskbar not there, it had closed shutdown itself

Any suggestions, please?

I did a google search & did not find anything relevant.

Re: Genie, caused Runtime Error

I'm also experiencing this error since the upgrade. I'm using a Netgear N600 router. This error is generated on both my desktop system (a CyberPower with AM3 motherboard) and my HP laptop (a Pavilion DV7). Both systems run Windows 7 64-bit. I experienced no such problem prior to the latest upgrade of the Genie software.

Re: Genie, caused Runtime Error

Delete it! What is the benefit of using it anyway? I used a 4000 since 2011 until last week and never once loaded genie. Hell netgear at times has enough problems writing firmware.
