Readyshare Print problem= Manually connected but not "Available"

HP 5780 printer was previously connected via Netgear PS121 USB print server, so I'm thinking this is not a compatibility issue.

In Netgear USB Control Center utility I can see the printer (MFP-HP-Officejet 5700 series) "Waiting to Connect". It allows me to connect manually and shows status as manually connected. That's as far as it goes --- I think it should next show status as "availbable", right?

If I exit the utility at this point the error message is: "please wait until the program terminates correctly!"
