Remote Home Surveillance Cameras Monitoring not working

Hello. I have a DVR and cameras setup at home. I want to view them on my Iphone5, but can't. I can log in with other computers that are connected to the router, but when I try the wireless, etc on phone, says error. Im thinking Comcast/Netgear is blocking port 80? I try to log in with the comcast IP and supposed to forward to the DVR cameras/DVR IP which is 192.168.1.5. Anyone have the same problem? Here is the link for the Comcast post:

Re: Remote Home Surveillance Cameras Monitoring not working

Rodog - if you're using the iphone on wifi you MAY be able to access the DVR via it's web interface on port 80. Please note I said MAY, if you had to download/install an activex control the first time you connected, it won't work on the iphone. If you're using the iphone via your cellular provider the following questions need to be answered or steps taken where necessary.

Cut and paste directly out of your other thread.

fordem wrote:

1) What port(s) does the DVR require?
2) Have you forwarded those port(s) in the router?
3) Have you configured those port(s) in mobileviewer2?

For what it's worth, although the DVR may allow web monitoring on port 80, I don't think that's the port mobileviewer will be using, that will more likely to be something in the 9000 range, I'm using the Android version of mobileviewer with port 9010.

June - all you're doing is confusing the issue and cluttering the forum with duplicate threads - my temptation is to lock this one and force the discussion back to the original thread.

Re: Remote Home Surveillance Cameras Monitoring not working

It's not confusing people. When you reply to thread with answer instead of ell user to go right correction makes any user visit the site to post ANYWHERE.

If you don't guide it you loose it. Simply as that... It's now posted on right place and do not need to be discussing this

Re: Remote Home Surveillance Cameras Monitoring not working

Actually June, I cant understand your English.

So far, nothing is working. On the LAN, (ex: http://192.168.1.5:9000) everything is fine, but the iphone5. If anyone needs my email address, it would be better if some1 knows what's going on. Im starting to think the DVR is messed up, its one of those cheap models from ebay, but the LAN works, so I don't know. Port forwarding is set to 80 ---> 192.168.1.5:9000

Re: Remote Home Surveillance Cameras Monitoring not working

If you are going to use 9000 then DVR must set to use 9000
