Router Drops Connection to Wireless Printer

I have a Netgear router and an Epson wirelss printer. I reserved the IP address in the modem (192.168.1.10) and the printer will print fine for a while then drops the connection to the printer. I have to go into the LAN settings and hit apply again to restore the connection to the printer. This happens randomly.

Re: Router Drops Connection to Wireless Printer

What I tried so far, which I don't know if it would have worked, was to set the printer static to 192.168.1.10 which is the printer IP. Then I went into the router to set the address reserve with that IP and MAC address which was successful. After setting this, however, I was unable to use the Google Cloud print any longer. After I set the printer back to auto instead of static on the IP address Google Cloud print worked again.

Re: Router Drops Connection to Wireless Printer

What do I do to get Google Cloud Print to work when my printer is set to a static IP?

Re: Router Drops Connection to Wireless Printer

Also, when the printer is set to DHCP and stops printing, all I have to do is log into the router and go to the reservation table and ,without changing any settings, hit apply it will start working again right away.

Re: Router Drops Connection to Wireless Printer

The only wireless connection that is having issues is the printer. We have a laptop, a Wii, and a DirecTV that connects to the network, and they are all ok and not having issues.

put static IP OUTSIDE of your DHCP range on printer side instead for any address reservation issues

Re: Router Drops Connection to Wireless Printer

Also, when I set it to static it doesn't allow my Epson email to print option to function as well. This is where to can send a print to the printer via email. Can I set something up in the printer:
DNS/Proxy Setup

Configure DNS/Proxy settings?

Re: Router Drops Connection to Wireless Printer

I found that not only my printer will fall offline, but my Wii as well. The only devices that aren't affected is my laptop and smartphones. I was told by support to change the channel for my wireless, but is that really going to help the situation?

Re: Router Drops Connection to Wireless Printer

I'm having same issue with my WNDR-3400 NetGear router constantly dropping the WiFi connection to Epson WF-2540 printer. As a non-techie, struggling with how to resolve....any easy step-by-step solution. Much appreciated.

Re: Router Drops Connection to Wireless Printer

WCLBanker, IMHO, you should start a new thread in the section for your router here: Rangemax Routers. Please also give more details, like how far your printer is from the router, or if there are any obstructions in between the printer and the router. Have you tried moving the printer closer and testing?

I have set up my HP printer to static IP, how do I limit the WNDR3400v2 router DHPC range to make sure the printer is outside the DHPC range. I have the printer set to 192.168.1.233, that was calculated by the HP static IP app.

Thanks
