Re: Genie login error
Afraid, I'm confused.
On one hand https://www.netgear.com/home/products/networking/cable-modems-routers/C6220.aspx#tabs-EaseofUse and the https://www.netgear.com/images/datasheet/networking/CableModems/C6220.pdf says "NETGEAR GENIE® APP—Personal dashboard to monitor, control & repair your home network" (I want to see the repair oh Netgear!)
On the other hand https://kb.netgear.com/24686/Which-NETGEAR-home-router-models-can-I-manage-using-the-NETGEAR-genie-a... does not list the C6220.
@ChristineT @Christian_R Netgear at it's best again - some teeth in the gear must be broken. No, the C6220 isn't a new product, the Data Sheet is from 2017. Please clarify what is going on here.

Re: Genie login error
Rather than dashing down blind alleys and trying to beat Netgear around the head, it might be quicker if we start with the basics.
You refer to the genie. This could be one of several things, the browser interface, a Windows or Mac program for a PC, or a mobile Android/iThing app. Netgear labels them all as genies. Which are you using?
There is support for this device at the end of this link:
>>>C6220 | Product | Support | NETGEAR<<<
I see no sign that the C6220 supports any of these various apps. The manual does talk of the genie, but it is not clear which one it refers to.
To get the desktop genie for your operating system, start here:
genie Landing Page | Apps | Discover | Home | NETGEAR
What are you trying to achieve with the genie? That would help to pin down the right tool to use.
Have you tried accessing the modem router in the usual way, with the graphical user interface (GUI) and the browser? This is usually the most versatile way in.
If that fails, try this:

You might find it quicker if, as per the "terms of service" of this place, you did not hijack someone else's issue and started your own discussion in the right section for your hardware and with more details.
The R8000P is a completely different animal from the C6220 that @DrGori88 is trying to fix.
While we are at it, the Nighthawk app is not the same as the genie.

Here you find the Nighthawk App community section - it might already contain the answer to the problem you hit.
