Having trouble logging in the genie router
I'm trying to log into my router to check for any new updates but despite using the correct password, I'm not able to log in.

Not much to go on there.
Log into the router how? I ask because you have posted in the Genie and that could mean various things.
What are you doing and where does it go wrong? Any error messages?
Manuals are always a good place to start.
Visit the support pages:
Support | NETGEAR
Feed in your model number and check the documentation for your hardware.
Check the section in the manual Upgrade Router Firmware.
You may have done that already. I can't tell from your message.
I mention it because Netgear gave up on supplying paper manuals and CD versions some years ago and people sometimes miss the downloads.

Don't expect much for the WNDR3400v2. It dates back to 2013 and the latest firmware up date was in 2017.
