Nighthawk genie download error message

I have a Netgear AC1900, Model R7000

I'm trying to change the access password to our router (after a big $ scam almost got us 2 days ago)

To accomplish that task, I'm trying to download the Nighthawk Genie app onto my iPhone 13 (iOS 16.4.1)

Everything seemed fine until what was I think the final step.  

I got an error message:  "We ran into a network issue." "Check your cell phone connection and press retry to continue setup." And there was an error code: 9914.  My iPhone and network access are working fine otherwise. 

I can't get past this screen.

Any help appreciated!

You can log in through the browser. You don't have to use the genie (and its outdated anyway)
