Connect a SRX5308 and wirless R7000 Routers

I have a SRX5308 router which is running great. I have been asked to add a R7000 wirless router to the wired network. I am having some trouble getting them set up. The wired network IP addresses are  192.168.69.1 to 192.168.69.150 the router IP is 192.168.69.1 our server is 192.168.69.2 server is the DHCP server. using 1 wan port. The wireless network needs to be set to 192.168.1.1 to 192.168.1.10. Do I need to set LAN2 on the SRX router to 192.168.1.1 and connect the Ethernet cable form the SRX LAN port to the wan port of the R7000. I tried this but it didn't work. How should it be set up. Thank you in advance for your assistance.

@PopWV,

Welcome to the community! 🙂

The wired network IP addresses are  192.168.69.1 to 192.168.69.150 the router IP is 192.168.69.1 our server is 192.168.69.2 server is the DHCP server. using 1 wan port. Not sure if this will work.  Let us try the following below:

1. Set the R7000 to an Access Point.

2. Create a VLAN Profile on SRX5308.  Set port 2 as the port member.  Enable the DHCP server with 192.168.1.1 and 192.168.1.10 as the starting IP address and ending IP address respectively.  Kindly read page 88-93 of the SRX5308 user manual here

3. Connect the LAN port of the R7000 to the port 2 of the SRX5308.

4. Check if the wireless clients connected to the SSID of the R7000 will be able to get an IP address from the VLAN Profile created on the SRX5308.

Let us know how it goes.

Re: Connect a SRX5308 and wirless R7000 Routers

Thank you for your assistance. I have tried as you suggested, but when I go top save the profile I get this warning "Network Address In Use" attached is a screen shot of the profile.

our network IP address range is 192.168.69.1 ( the router), 192.168.69.2 (the server) up to 192.168.69.150. the IP of the Wireless router is default 192.168.1.1. I hope this is enough info. What am I doing wrong? A second question should i upgrade the firmware on the SRX router?

Again thank you for your response.
