FVS318G WAN State: DOWN

Our in office FVS318G has recently be acting up with the WAN port going dark. WAN drops out sometimes for a few minutes and other times for long periods of time. When I look at the Firewalls user interface I see the WAN status as "WAN STATE: DOWN"

 

I believe our ISP / Internet service is fine as our other firewall used for Guests to access the internet continues to work without issue.

 

Current firmware is: 3.1.1-08. I know there is newer firmware but this firewall has run for close to two years without trouble so I dont think updating firware will address this issue.

Welcome to the community! 

 

You can start by isolating the issues first by changing the cables coming from your modem. Second, since the connection from the other firewall is stable you can also try using that connection to the FVS318G. What was the last thing that has been changed before the issue started? Do you have DHCP or static IP coming from the modem?
