FVS318Gv2 - Gateway IP is grayed out when using static IP. Help!

I am installing a new FVS318Gv2 to replace an FVS318G (v1). We use a static IP, and I noticed that the Gateway IP boxes are grayed out on the setup screen. Please help!

Re: FVS318Gv2 - Gateway IP is grayed out when using static IP. Help!

Hi HPC_1720,

Welcome to the community! 🙂

Kindly answer the questions below:

a. Have you tried to reboot your FVS318Gv2?

b. Have you tried to use other browsers like Firefox or Safari then check if same problem occurs?

c. Have you tried using other PC/s or laptop/s to access the web-GUI of the FVS318Gv2 then configure it?

d. What is the current firmware version of your FVS318Gv2?

e. Have you tried to perform a factory reset on your FVS318Gv2 then reconfigure it from scratch then check if same problem occurs?

I look forward to your response.

Regards,

Dane, I did everything on your list, and the Gateway IP is still grayed out. I can enter the Static IP and Mask okay, but cannot enter the Gateway IP boxes at all. The firmware is the most current, v4.3.3-6. Please help. Is there something wrong with this unit?

Re: FVS318Gv2 - Gateway IP is grayed out when using static IP. Help!

Hello HPC_1720,

That is weird, I looked at another model using v.4.3.3-6 and it looks normal when using "Use Static IP Address". Can you post a screenshot for this? Also, try running "Auto Detect" to make sure it is detecting Static IP and should let you enter the static IP information. Network>WAN Settings then "Auto Detect".

Looking forward to your response.

Thanks,

Re: FVS318Gv2 - Gateway IP is grayed out when using static IP. Help!

Hello HPC_1720,

Alright, I did not expect to see that. I'm suspecting a corrupted firmware or a bug (I have check our reported issues, but did not find anything related to the web UI). Can you try an older firmware version, 4.3.3.3 should work? Let us try to isolate the issue.

Looking forward to your update.

Thanks,

Re: FVS318Gv2 - Gateway IP is grayed out when using static IP. Help!

Thanks for your help, John. I tried numerous times to roll back the firmware, but it kept saying the file was invalid or corrupt. I even downloaded several copies, used different computers/browsers, etc.... I'm thinking the unit is bad.

Re: FVS318Gv2 - Gateway IP is grayed out when using static IP. Help!

Hi HPC_1720,

I suggest that you open an online case with NETGEAR Support here for a possible online replacement.  Kindly state the troubleshooting steps you've done that is mentioned on this forum thread.  Attach a soft copy of the Proof of Purchase or Sales Invoice of the FVS318Gv2 for warranty verification.  If ever your FVS318Gv2 is still under hardware warranty then an online replacement will follow.

When you disable "ISP Login Required" it works fine. Can't do ISP Login and Static IP at the same time apparently.
