FVS336GV2 Not Forwarding to VM Server

Hello,  I am trying to setup my router, FVS336GV2 vers. 3.0.9-02, to route http and https to forward to my VM webserver without any luck.  I have another netgear router that is working correctly so I am comparing settings to see where I may have gone wrong.

I noticed in the working router, FVS336G vers. 3.0.6-25, under Security -> Services, it has a TCP entry of:

Web Server TCP 80 Normal Service

However, when I try to create this entry in the newer router I get the error, "Port range conflicts with default service or HTPPS port(s)".

So I am wondering if this could be why my router isn't letting traffic through to my web server or is it something else?

Thanks for your help,

AJ

Hi @AJ-1000,

Welcome to the community! 🙂

Hello,  I am trying to setup my router, FVS336GV2 vers. 3.0.9-02, to route http and https to forward to my VM webserver without any luck.  I have another netgear router that is working correctly so I am comparing settings to see where I may have gone wrong.

I suggest you to update the firmware of your FVS336Gv2 to the latest version which is v4.3.3-6 in a ladderized manner.  First, update the firmware from v3.0.9-02 to v3.1.1-08.  Then, update it from v3.1.1-08 to 4.3.1-18 and so on until you reach the latest which is v4.3.3-6.  Afterwards, check if the same problem will occur.

You may want to perform a factory reset on the FVS336Gv2 after upgrading to the firmware to the latest version then reconfigure the settings from scratch in order to start clean using the latest firmware version.

Regards,
