Lost VPN Lite Client software license activation key

Our company. purchased a FVS318N VPN router back in 2014, and it apparently came with 1 VPN Lite Client activation key. However, we have no idea where it is now. How can we obtain this? Thanks

Re: Lost VPN Lite Client software license activation key

Hi @jfalk,

I apologize for the late response.  I already inquired your concern to the NETGEAR Support Team and there was an approval to provide you a VPN Lite license key.  I have already sent the VPN Lite license keys via private message.

Since you were provided with VPN Lite license keys and if ever you do not have further concerns, I encourage you to mark the appropriate reply as the “Accepted Solution” so others can be confident in benefiting from the solution. The NETGEAR Community looks forward to hearing from you and being a helpful resource in the future!

Actually, we also have a second router of the same model, which we will also need an activation key. I can send you both serial numbers.

Re: Lost VPN Lite Client software license activation key

Hi @jfalk,

Welcome to the community! 🙂

Do you still have the CD that came with each of your FVS318N?  If yes, kindly browse it and you might find there the VPN Lite license key.

Otherwise, kindly send me the following below via private message:

a. S/N of both FVS318N - make sure its registered to your MyNETGEAR account

b. e-mail address that was used when you have registered the VPN license key before

Re: Lost VPN Lite Client software license activation key

Hi, DaneA,

How do I PM you in order to send you the serial numbers? If I reply, my response won't be private, and I don't see any other options.

Thanks

Re: Lost VPN Lite Client software license activation key

@jfalk,

I received your private message and inquired the serial numbers of the 2 FVS318N and e-mail addresses you sent.  I just got a feedback from the NETGEAR Web Content Specialist that there is no corresponding VPN Lite license key that has been registered that corresponds to either the serial numbers of the 2 FVS318N and e-mail addresses you have provided.

Re: Lost VPN Lite Client software license activation key

Hi, DaneA:

Well, I have attached a screen capture of my account screen, showing the registered device along with the serial number. I can get my boss to send a similar screen capture of the device registered to him. The VPN licenses was not used for these products previously - we used ShrewSoft VPN software. However, we would now prefer to use the Netgear software, and the purchase of each FVS318N comes with 1 license. We bought both of the FVS318Ns years ago and do not have the CDs anymore, but we have been the only owner of these devices.

Thanks

Joel
