ProSafe Wireless-N 8-Port Gigabit VPN Firewall FVS318N - ERR_SSL_VERSION_OR_CIPHER_MISMATCM

I am getting ERR_SSL_VERSION_OR_CIPHER_MISMATCH on my browser when I attempt to connect to my router.  I have used IE, Firefox, Brave and keep getting the same error. It is blocking my internet access due to this error on my Windows 10 Pro computer.  Is there a firmware upgrade for this error for my router and how would I connect to it to be able to upgrade my firmware if it is available for it.

I can access my local Home network NAS drives without a problem just internet access is being blocked

While many questions about routers are generic and could be answered anywhere, some things need specialist knowledge In your case, the  FVS318N isn't even a router. which is the point of this bit of the Netgear community.

You might get more help, and find earlier questions and answers specific to your device, in the appropriate section for your hardware. That's probably here:

Switches - NETGEAR Communities

or

Firewalls and VPN Routers - NETGEAR Communities

This may also be useful:

Search - NETGEAR Communities – FVS318N

I will ask the Netgear moderator to move your message.

In the meantime you could visit the support pages:

Support | NETGEAR

Feed in your model number and check the documentation for your hardware. Look at the label on the device for the model number.

Check for various troubleshooting tips.

You may have done this already. I can't tell from your message.

I mention it because Netgear stopped supplying printed manuals and CD versions some years ago and people sometimes miss the downloads.

Thanks for your reply,

I did find a way to recovery from my issues after I posted this request.  Windows Settings has a page that will let you do a totla network reset to it orginal default settings for ALL of the computers adapters.  Once it rebooted the system reconnected to the internet.  The only down side is that any VPN software or devices will have to be re-installed.  Good recovery for a weird problems.

Thanks to everyone for their feedback
