Strange log contents..

We've been using this router for some time.  Recently we started paying close attention to the logs.  This is what we see and don't understand what it is:

@fred339,

We really need to check what seems to be going on. What happens when you see these logs? Is there any disconnection? Please give us more information on what is happening in your network.

Re: Strange log contents..

I have received reports that the "internet" is disconnected.

Probes show that the router remains in an outgoing trace route but the next hop, the ISP modem -  doesn't include the ISP modem.

I don't know what that has to do with the log question.  But then, I don't understand the log - and posted this question here.

I believe the modem will be replaced soon.

But this answers your question about what's going on??

@fred339,

Thanks for your reply.

How about the firewall? What is happening to the firewall when you are seeing these logs? These logs showing are referring to the firewall. If nothing is happening on the firewall, then nothing to worry 🙂

Re: Strange log contents..

John:  Thank you!

The FVS336Gv2 *is* the firewall.

I'm a bit unclear what sort of thing we'd be looking for and where would we be looking?

The log pieces I sent is the only place I know to look!  Smiley Sad

I believe I mentioned that an outgoing trace route stopped at the firewall - which suggests the next upstream device: the ISP modem had stopped responding.

Since then I believe that I've seen one outgoing trace route ending with no response from the FVS336Gv2.

But, since I can't decipher the log entries, it's cumbersome.

I do appreciate your help with this as I may not have the luxury of reading a log entry decoder.
