Internet pauses sporadically
I’ve been experiencing extremely slow speeds with my equipment and I’ve just about run out of ideas.
I’ve been on the phone to my ISP AMNET Broadband and they have done various isolation tests and we can see drop outs from me to the exchange.
What I do not understand is why my router drops from its initial connection speed of 4 Mbps to 2.2 Mbps after 2 hours to 1 day.
This is what I have at the moment.
Equipment:
NetGear D6300
LinkSYS Smart Wi-Fi WRT1900AC model:19256 (in wi-fi bridge mode)
Firmware on both systems up-to-date
I’ve pinged from the bridged router to the Internet and to internal devices with no dropouts.
The issue is after about 2 hours the connect speed will drop from 4 Mbps to 2.2 Mbps and the system becomes unuseable.
Ping testing from desktop to Internet shows after every 10-15 packets there will be a dropout, this happens even after the ISP has reset the router.
I have to reboot the router (D6300) every day if not sometimes 2-3 times in a day.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hello jonl0711
Have you tried to adjust the MTU?
