WAX214 Firmware Version: V1.0.2.3 This unit displays a blinking amber power light if contact with the DHPC service is lost. The problem is the power light continues to blink amber even if the DHPC service is restored which means it can indicate the error long after it has gone. There are many reasons the DHPC service could go down temporarily, for instance a device updating on the network infrastructure, so it would make sense if the Power Indicator returned to the normal green state once connection to the DHCP service is restored. Additionally it would be helpful if this error could appear in the devices error log.

So I recently bought an Netgear WAX206 through the Amazon Canada store, but the wireless controls are region locked to United States with no option for me to change this. I understand the reasoning that you want to make it easier for the customer and potentially not break any laws by broadcasting out of range wireless signals, but this is poor design. I don't know what steps can be done now to unlock the region setting so I can select Canada. It also causes a problem for resale as well. Can you please resolve this issue. Thanks!

It would be very usefull to be able to reboot online from the interface especially when remotely managing. Being able to change the wifi power would be great too but this is more complex
Hopefully in a future firmware
Thanks

Hi, when I'm using the Guest Network chekbox in Wireless Setting - Access Point, VLAN Isolation is disabled. This is quite limiting in network designs. It would be great if the firmware allowed to assign Guest Networks to specific VLANs. My actual case now is with WAX214, but I understand this intended and is applicable to other Wifi AP models, too. Thanks, Jo

I request that fast roaming (802.11-r, 802.11-k and 802.11v) be exposed via the user interface so that client devices (IOS/Android) can seemlessly migrate between APs in an ensemble. I know the hardware supports those standards, but the UI does not provide a mechanism to enable it without the purchase of a contoller or cloud based service in a consumer home network.
I have read the post which also asks for the same functionallity showing other hardware providers have the functionallity exposed to end-users. I am not comfortable accessing the CLI without documentation from Netgear.

Why do we have to use a controller or the cloud to enable 802.11r? Even Linksys offers this feature in its consumer product, the RE7000....

These access points have a habit of dropping connections, as evident by the multiple people complaining about it. There is nothing in the logs that point to actual issues. I have users that are not in the office everyday. Especially now with this Coronavirus Pandemic. When they return to the office their printers have been dropped. The only way to get them printing again is to reboot the access point. As soon as the access point comes back online the printers work fine. We NEVER have this issue with the WAG102s. We actually still have 2 of the WAG102s in service. They have been in place for at least 10 years and very rarely have to be rebooted or even maintained. Can we please have the option to schedule a reboot added to the firmware of the WAC730? Please????? Thank you, Jessica

Please add ping functionality to the WAC730 web interface. This is a common tool amongst most wireless access points and routers.

Hi,
We have recently had a security audit performed and it identified that our WNAP210 Wireless Access Points are running an old version of PHP (5.2.3) and LightTPD (1.4.18).
We have applied all the latest firmware upgrades as far as we can see, but this has had no effect on the versions listed.
Are there any options for upgrading these to a later version of PHP, or is is time to look at replacements?
Kind Regards,
Richard Ward
IT Manager

it would be cool to be able to go up one level during cli configuration of said AP. Like in Ciscos IOS, if you are in "configure terminal" or in an "interface" you should be able to go up one config level to be able to choose a different configuration item.
At the moment you're "stuck" in the lower level and need to reconnect (and relogin) to configure the AP further

Dear,
I would like to raise 3 future request regarding WAC720 alert messages.
1. I would like to change the subject of a allert message. The subject is now like:
Host: "" IP: "" List of Alarm with Severity "Major" Reported in Last 5 min
It would be great to change this is something else, its not clear for us what the problem is when i see this subject. Can we change it in something like: Major error reported on AP"", AP Down in the last 5 min.
2. We would like to see the error message in plaine text in a email. We are unable to read te error message on our smartphone and in we need to save a txt file on our laptop to see what is wrong. This takes to much time. Is it possible to get the attachement as plain text in the mail?
3. We would like to change the priorities for each error. For me it is very important to know when a AP is down, so i would like to put that kind of errors in a major prio, but i dont want to get a messages when a AP discovers their are bad envirements. So we would like to change the errors prioritys.

I setup 4 WAC104 as Acces Points, and there are no settings available to limit channel Bandwidth in 2.4 and 5GHz spectrums. There is a compatibility setting which appears to give no control over BandWidth. The shopping Center is very congested and I would like to force SSID "VillageLife" to 20MHz (See attached Images). This should be a setting to make it more friendly in congested areas. Apple devices do not use 40MHz, only 20MHz. Am I missing something? I contacted Tech Support and they claim there is no setting to limit Bandwidth, and told me to post it here. Most WiFi AP units I have dealt with allow you to limit bandwidth, so I'm surprised to see there is no bandwidth setting, and therefore hard to recommend to other clients (we like the 4 LAN ports SWITCH, allowing us to hardwire local computers to Ethernet and not WiFi).

Hi,
Within an stand-alone AP (WAC720/730) it is possible to enable or disable the Bonjour service. When an AP is managed through a wireless controller you can not decide to enable or disable this protocol.
I understand from Netgear support (Case #: 28216854 ) that it is enabled within the controller, but limited to 1Mbps. I can confirm that therefore the Bonjour/Airprint is not working perfectly. You cannot enable/disable Bonjour and cannot set the bandwidth.
Can this feature add to the wireless controller firmware?

Please disable captive portal when SXR80 is on AP mode. This creates a lot of confusion when navigating through settings.
