Please allow the "Pro" series router to route without NAT. This is expected in a "Pro" environment. We have many clients that have static ip address ranges and would love to use this router, but the lack of routing without NAT prevents us from ever recommending or using this router in these environments. Please stop thinking like your old home appliances, and starting thinking about SMB environments. Automatic NAT is great for home when you have a single, usually dynamic ip address. It is NOT appropriate when you have a business environment with multiple static ip addresses.

#PR60X Hello, Currenthy, the pro router PR60X doesn't have the ability to manage connection trought the access control as the BR200 or BR500. Is it possible to implement it because the access control by mac addres is more secure and it easyer to mange it directly from the router? 😎 Best Regards Farrenard

In the User Manual (page 14), it is recommended that M3 x 20mm screws be used for mounting the router to the wall. This was very helpful but I'd like to see the type of screw head added to the screw info (I found tha the 'Pan head' type works best for me. I'd also suggest adding the distance between the screw holes (center of hole to center of hole). That, or even an overlay drawing that the user can print and then use the printout as a template on the wall. Thanks again ! Jeff-

Although the AX18000 has VPN support for Pure VPN, how about adding OpenVPN and Wireguard VPN support ? I've had the router for 20 days, I'm content with it's functionality on the whole. That said, I had some issues with the setup due to the device wanting to do the setup on it's own. I'm a network engineer and would prefer a command shell from which to set things up. Preferences aside, it's doing the job quite well at this point. Thanks, and looking forward to your reply. Jeff-

I'm actually using an SRX 5308 router, which is tagged as EoL product. As there is no replacement for this router in Netgear catalog, I was wondering if a minimal firmware update implmenting TLS 1.2 (which is the minimum request for modern browsers) would be possible. So we could continue using the router and, first of all, connecting to managmenet interface via browser. Thanks in advance Luciano

It would be useful to be able to connect two BR200 together and set them up on a device level as main WAN and as Backup WAN in order to get WAN failover, maybe using a LAN port connection between them.

Unfortuantely it is not possible to specify custom DNS servers for each DHCP server (e.g. for different VLAN's). Please add this feature.

Many fibre optic providers in Switzerland are upgrading speeds to 1Gbps up to 10Gbps. With the current WAN/LAN throughput of 924 Mbps, the BR200/BR500 are no choice. It would be great to have a business insight managed router in your lineup to serve this market which I believe is growing everywhere.

I currently have 2 NAS drives on my home network, and both allow automatic scheduling and emailing to the Admin account via its built in scheduler any "server logs" which also report any activity (i.e. admin logon, DOS attacks, BOT attacks, updates to AV, Time Sync etc) I find this very useful, especially as it also clears the NAS log file after its been emailed, so thus allows automatic maintenance, plus allows the admin user to see a weekly report of the NAS log which is emailed automatically. Currently I cant find this option under the config for the RN21400 ready series, and would love it if this feature was added.

It would be helpful if the SRK80 router supported defining firewall rules between VLANs. This would enable administrators to allow limited access to devices in other VLANs, more precisely than "Network Isolation" on (completely closed) or off (completely open). A common use case of this feature would be to place IoT devices such as Chromecasts on an IoT VLAN and allow personal devices such as smartphones to control these IoT devices from a personal VLAN, withouth allowing IoT devices to access the personal VLAN. An example of this use-case is illustrated in OpenWRT which is already what the Orbi Pro Wifi 6 firmware is based on: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UvniZs8q3eU&t=310s

I would like to block access to WAN per default setting and allow only dedicated IPs. It is possible, see this post. It turns out that the order of the rule is important. The default block rule must be in the last position. To whitelist a new IP, you must delete at least this rule and create again. This is annoying

I want to be able to switch access to the WAN for certain LAN computers with a script. This would require a CLI via SSH. Why BR200 does not appear in Modelselection???

To enable blacklisting or whitelisting of large IP ranges, CIDR Synstax in the type 10.140.0.0/16 should become possible. See also this post: https://community.netgear.com/t5/Hardware-VPN-Firewalls-and/BR200-Advanved-Firewall-Traffic-Rules-error-message-cannot-add/m-p/2097946/highlight/true#M11810

The BR200 does allows for attached devices to be renamed on LAN1 but not on LAN2 if created with an additional VLAN which I have. I opened a case 44177466 where they confirmed with engineering it is not possible currently. They advised me to post the request here.

I just cannot believe Netgear spent all these resources in releasing the amazing Nighthawk RAXE500 AXE11000 and missed elementary capabilities such as support for Plex server. It is shocking to say the least. Many Plex users looking to upgrade from Nighthawk X10 AD7200 to the WiFi 6E will need a router supporting Plex server. Let alone those who want to buy a router for the first time that supports Plex but want it also to be capable of the leatest WiFi 6E. Please add support for Plex server in you rnext firmware update for Nighthawk RAXE500 AXE11000, it is a no-brainer! Thanks Lola

#SMB Router FEATURE REQUEST: Allow users choice of how they wish to manage network- netgear app or web browser with optional 3rd party authenticator app. ISSUE: Netgear forcing sharing mobile phone number and use app vs browser login. This is likely applicable for all new routers. WHY IT'S BAD POLICY: Forcing users to provide mobile number creates new security and privacy risks. It's bad for netgear owners and could more severly impact stock value in the event of a data breach. Don't be the next Ubiquiti data breach! From Krebsonsecurity, "...After the company began pushing everyone to use a unified authentication and access solution that makes it difficult to administer these devices without first authenticating to Ubiquiti’s cloud infrastructureclearly shows the risk of requiring people to provide cell phone numbers" Back story: Netgear is doing the same as Ubiquiti. I always managed my network via browser login, but recently the web page said I have to download the app and was forced to give netgear my mobile number. After I went through the whole process, it said my product was not eligible and then let me login as usual via browser; this latter part is not relevant to the feature request, just sharing.

Some suggestions to improve security, in particular for FTP access with ReadyNAS OS 6: 1) add the option to remove "admin" user from FTP access on a share 2) allow the "admin" username to be changed to something else 3) add ability to define a lockout policy (i.e. if X number of login failures within Y minutes, lock out for Z minutes) ... and why isn't ReadyNAS available as an "Idea Label" here?

I use IPSec VPN and Open VPN on my new BR200 routers. I understand there is a VPN Light on the hardware, but it doesnt turn on when having a VPN connection. I guess its a relic from the BR500 series. Either way, it would be great if I could see a visual representation on the hardware when I have an IPSec VPN connection. Is it possible to get that to happen? Thanks for your hard work, best regards
