Hello my name is Peter and I posted some requests about essential functions on the GS1xxE series of switches.
It seems there have been some ideas posted here but there is no respons whether these things are being
implemented or not or any timeframe given.
I personally had a request about adding a menu in the GS1XXE switches to enter some allowed mac addresses to prevent
a user to connect some rogue equipment on the network.
Could it be that the chipset does not support such functionality!
Couldn't you post back that the engineers are working with this, this and this function and it will be ready in 1-3 months or something.
Anyways a definitive answer would be appreciated so that I may peruse other brands that has similar 5-port switches.
Regards
Peter

Is it possible to include pdf files in the list with files to be indexed as to the content? My scanner converts scanned documents into text by adding an additional layer and it would be great if the content of scanned OCR documents can be included. Furthermore is there a document on how the indexing should work? I have tried to use it a couple of times, but the results where not as expected and I think I am doing something wrong. Last thing as to indexing: when I log into the RN628X I contineous see the message that File search is indexing which does not make sense to me. The changes that occur on my NAS are quite limited and as such I would not expect to see the messaging indexing at all. So I guess my request is more to either explain this feature better (so that I can lower my expecations) or improve it and on top of that include pdf file support. Obvious when a pdf only include images then an indexing option won't add anything, but when it is including text (native or via OCR) including it in the indexing function would be welcomed by me.

Hi, Having multiple M4100 and GSM7228 switches where device view is not working due to Java support in the webbrowser. Althought there should be a work arround with installing an old java and using IE11 this is not an ideal solution. I had simular issue with HP 2910 switches, HP made a new Aruba firmware for this switch and is now fully web-managed. I see a lot of people with the same issue in the ICT businnes with no proper solution. Spending € 1400 for a new switch which require an old Java is not done. Kind regards, Steven

Hi Team, It would be helpful if you could add .pdf for the file search suppoted file formats as I have huge number pdf files that I need to be searchable via file search feature of the ReadyNAS. I hope you could look into this request and add this on the next release of firmware. Thank you!

I have observed that the daisy chain feature on the SRR60 still defaults to more of a star profile whenever possible even when stronger / faster signal strength options are available. Additionally, I find devices are also doing the same the thing. We really could use a fix in two ways for this. Firstly, when determining how to add a satellite to the network, the system should have some options for us. Either to use the strongest signal and connect to it, or to attempt to minimize the number of in between satellites to get back to the router. Additionally, it would be nice if we could hard code the path back to the router for each satellite based on the choice of satellites in range. In this way we can override your device logic if we see it not choosing the most optimum route. I have observed the behaviour in a straight line configuration between router and satellites. Have the router, which we will denote with R, and SRS60 satellites denoted by A,B,C, and D. My configuration is as follows: R A B C D What I observe is that: - A connects to R on a good signal strength - B connects to R on with a poor signal strength - C connects to B on a good signal strength - D connects to B on a poor signal strength. However, B is in range of A on a good signal strength and D is in range of C on a good signal strength. In fact when first setting up the system this is what they did, but after time they change and opt to use weaker signal options and there is no way to override this behaviour.

WC7500 controller in mixed environment - private office and public cafe. Each has its own WLAN, and a need has arisen to be able to turn off the public guest WLAN from time to time to discourage table hogging in the cafe, without turning off the private office WLAN as well.
I can imagine other scenarios where the ability to turn WLANs on and off independently of each other would be very useful.
Could this feature be added to the WC75xx family of controllers?

SRR60 - Using the Guest band I am able to set a suitable duration limitations for our active Wifi for visitors. We have a need to set the time duration more incrementally. As it stands, the options are 1,2 and 6 hours. This is not suitable for my environment, and I'm sure many others. For my purposes we need options to limit access to 3, 4 or 5 hours. Could NetGear in its next software revision including all numbers 1 through 12 as choices for Guest login duration or perhaps even make the time manually configurable for up to 48 or 72 hours? I do see this adjustment as something which would Guest access limitations much more useful. Thanks

Can you add the possibility to set a port descrition inside the switch?
Thank you

Hi,
This idea is for Access Point WAC 505/510. The product is not in the list.
In standalon mode, I can schedule different activation times of the wifi.
In Insight Mode, the option disappears and it's impossible to do this.
I can not believe Netgear forgot that. Netgear support and the sales department told me whether or not the POE was enabled on the switch port. It's a joke ?
The scheduling option must be implemented. At the moment, I'm using my WAC505 in standalone mode.

Dear ladies and gentlemen,
I have several Netgear Switches. Two of them are the GS750E and the JGS524Ev2.
I am using port-based VLANs and wanted to create a 4-Port LAG connection between them.
On the GS750E I create a LAG with 4 ports as port members.
After that I remove the ports that are members of the LAG from the VLAN and add the LAG to the VLAN instead.
the GS750E has FW Version 1.0.0.22.
When I want to do the same on the JGS524Ev2 there is no possibility under "VLAN/port-based/advaced" to add the LAG to the VLAN.
It would be very great if you could realize this feature in the next FW release of the JGS524Ev2. I am just using the latest FW!
Thanks a lot !!

Basically, IKEv1 has major flaws and is vulnerable to protocol analysis, espiecially in Aggresive mode. Also, IKEv2 is only one supported natively by "recent" Windows versions.

I would appreciated if you would develop any access point (like Wi-Fi router) that supports Wi-Fi Round Trip Time (RTT), via IEEE 802.11mc.

When there was given point that these series of switches (vlan capable) has serious security flaw, because switch management interface is listening across all untaged ports, no matter of its vlan ID, your reply was : "This is by design and not a limitation of the GS108Ev3 switch since its category is a ProSAFE Plus Gigabit switch which adds a configuration layer to the standard unmanaged switch."
So please enlight us, what kind of designers designed this and how can you named it "Prosafe Plus" , because it's excatly the opposite.
Puprose of vlans in switch like this is to make separate L2 segments and prevents parties on different segments to communicate between each other and i guess we can agree on that. Unfortunatelly thanks to your design, switch manageent is accessible to each party, just set up the right IP range and bingo, you can access the web and whole security is downgraded just to the security of switch web page and it's password. I still think that you can't be serious about this. This is serious security design flaw. You can't leave security of the l2 network segments relay just on "unbreakable" switch web management.

I would like to request a "Disable auto-firmware update" option/button be added to the Netgear Orbi Pro SRK 60 Business wi-fi system. As a system admin for a company that should be a standard option on any business networking equipment to avoid unexpected downtimes from a potentially buggy firmware update that auto installs on the router and takes down the network/internet connection. This a standard feature on almost all residential wi-fi systems and the 1st commericial or residential wireless router I have ever deployed that did not have that basic feature.
Thank you
