I use IPSec VPN and Open VPN on my new BR200 routers. I understand there is a VPN Light on the hardware, but it doesnt turn on when having a VPN connection. I guess its a relic from the BR500 series. Either way, it would be great if I could see a visual representation on the hardware when I have an IPSec VPN connection. Is it possible to get that to happen? Thanks for your hard work, best regards

This is actually re a BR200. Using insight Cloud portal, I am unable to expand the DHCP IP range beyond 254 clients The application does not le me edit the 3rd octet of the ending IP address. Setting desired IP: 192.168.30.1 Sub: 255.255.254.0 begin IP: 192.168.30.2 end IP: 192.168.31.254 Insight cloud does not let me edit the 3drd octet. It stays at 192.168.30.254 ... cant change it to 31 I can, however make this change in the BR200 interface directly after I have setup the network in Insight Cloud Portal this is a BUG thanks

Please add a page to auto display the MAC address of all the devices attached to the switch. By default, each port should be disabled, and I will enable it if I want to allow the attached device to access the network. It will be easier to set up ACL by Mac. No typing MAC addresses no rules to setup. Of course if you want to setup ACL by rules it should disable or override this page. But most network setups will really benefit from this simple way of controlling rogue devices and protecting unsupervised data ports. Consider that this feature will give Netgear and advantage over the competition. I will change all my network switches for those that have a feature like this.

It is a very unsafe design to have the switch listen to every VLAN that's configured as untagged in one of its physical ports for its web management. It would be a relatively simple change to add a specific vlan to listen to for management, regardless of whether a port is marked untagged for this vlan or not. See: https://community.netgear.com/t5/Smart-Plus-and-Smart-Pro-Managed/GS108Ev3-Cannot-set-VLAN-for-management-interface/td-p/971240 Please change this

Hi, In the Insight Mobile App can you add a new feature to add a Custom Static DNS when using WAN DHCP? I am away from my system and my WAN DNS is down from my ISP. Tech support said this can only be done in the Orbi Admin webpage. I am getting a DHCP WAN address and DNS from my ISP provider, but I do not see a way for me to customize my DNS in the Insight app. I want to switch the DNS to Google or others e.g. 8.8.8.8 or 1.1.1.1.

Hello, the DHCP server is a bit "basic". Would it be possible to integrate some Options in the BR500 router and be able to manage them in the Insight portal. This would be a great advantage to maintain small sites with SIP phones. Option 2 (Time Zone Offset) Option 4 (Time Server) Option 60 (vendor ID) Option 66 (TFTP or HTTP server in stringvalue) Option 114 (URL) Option 120 (P-CSCF address) Thank You, Edouard

Hello, I never use "SIP ALG" in my SIP phone installations. Would it be possible to disable it by default? Otherwise, would it be possible to deactivate it in the Insight portal? Thank you, Edouard

Given that your entire product line of ProSafe Smart switches only supports up to TLS 1.0, I'd like to suggest that you start working on making TLS 1.3 available. Especially, since TLS 1.2 has been around since 2008 and you should really be embarassed that your business line of switches only support insecure communication methods.

Given that this is marketted as a 'Pro' poduct I was surprised at the simplistic functionality offered withthe DHCP server. Can I suggest you consider offering the follow options, which seem pretty basic to me: Allow domain name for LAN to be set and also to be displayed on the web interface Allow DHCP options such as DNS servers and Time servers to be set for DHCP clients Allow lease period to be controlled

Hello, I'm using IEEE 802.1x wired authentication on my switches, generally it's working ok, but a bit slow as the switch tries to authenticate to the RADIUS server and can't get an authentication, you'll get timeouts and retries and when all of this fails the guest VLAN will be assinged to the port. All good and well, but I also use PXE boot for installations and sometimes different bootmodes and the time it takes to get a connection with the VLAN exceeds the timeout of DHCP resulting in not connecting. I can do some finetuning limiting the timeouts and rerequest, also change the DHCP timeout a bit. In some cases this works, but it's a hassle, I've seen on HP switches that I use that they just assign the guest VLAN (or default VLAN) to the port while attempting the authentication giving a way more smoother experience. I would like to suggest to assign the guest VLAN first and then attempt an authentication, changing the VLAN if/when authentication is accepted. I found this to be the case in all NETGEAR switched that I used, not a particular range.

I would like to propose a new feature to the Insight Web and Mobile portals. Specifcally, I propose that there be an option to turn off and/or limit to certain channels/devices the "Enable Neighbor AP" scanning. The option to turn it off exists on the local web UI for the WAC540 (the particular Access Point I use) and it is also possible on the local Web UI to turn on/off for just certain Channels. In addition, a user can set the frequency of the scanning (Mild/Medium/Aggressive). I have noticed that this scanning causes regular packet loss for any client connected to the device, which causes regular (brief) freezing on Video/VOIP calls. I tested by removing a device from the Insight Controller and turning off the "Enable Neighbor AP" scanning as well as setting the mild/med/aggressive options. Setting to mild resulted in less packet loss. Setting to agressive causes more frequent packet loss. Once you re-connect a device to the Insight Controller, the option to check "Enable Neighbor AP" is grayed out on the local Web UI. It's also not possible on the Insight Web portal or the Insight Mobile app to set "Enable Neighbor AP" option. With all the people using these devices to connect to/from remote locations (as a result of COVID), frequent, even if brief, freezes in responsiveness mean that this Insight feature gap represents a significant limitation of the Insight Controller.

Firmware V5.10.0.3 The old FVS338 had all of the below features and worked great. I'm surprised and very disappointed they are missing from the BR500. Custom services are always enabled unless deleted. An enable/disable check box on each service would be very useful. Currently you have to delete the custom service to disable and create the custom service from scratch to enable. This extremely inconvenient. There is a severe security problem with port forwarding custom services. Open ports are exposed to the whole world. The ability to limit port exposure to a specific external IP or a range of specific IPs would solve this security problem. It is extremely important to implement this safeguard.

Option to Reorder the FireWall Trafic Rules , This is must . ( if you have 50 rules and you want enter something to rule 10 , you have to remove all the rules and add it again , this is very painfull ) Many Thanks.
